Mayes-Martin Ltd. provided the dyed diesel for the Canadian Armed Forces Air Demonstration Squadron, the Snowbirds, on June 28, 2017.
The Snowbirds are a Canadian icon made up of pilots, mobile support operators, a logistics officer, resource management support clerks, and a public affairs officer that work to bring amazing air performances around Canada.
Dyed diesel is made of mixed colours of your choosing, which are stored in a modified pod in an aircraft. This allows the pilot to release the colours and create a range of coloured smoke for up to seven minutes. Normally, the smoke colour would be white, but by injecting the diesel into the hot exhaust from the jet engine modifies the colour.
Mayes-Martin Ltd. offers dyed diesel for community events, and can deliver to remote locations with bulk fuel and the equipment needed. For more information, or to inquire on purchasing, please give us a call.
